In this research, a bi-objective joint replenishment problem has been developed and solved with the assumption of one restricted resource. The proposed model has a storing space constraint and tries to optimize two objective functions simultaneously. They include minimizing annual holding and setup costs and minimizing annual inventory investment. Then, for solving this problem, a multi-objective genetic algorithm (MOGA) has been developed. In order to analyze the algorithm efficiency, its performance has been examined in solving 1600 randomly produced problems using parameters extracted from literature. The findings imply that the proposed algorithm is capable of producing a good set of Pareto optimal solutions. Finally, the application of the problem solving approach and the findings of the proposed algorithm have been illustrated for a special problem, which has been randomly produced<strong>.</strong>

The reliability of designing systems such as electrical and electronic circuits, power generation/ distribution networks and mechanical systems, in which the failure of a component may cause the whole system failure, and even the reliability of cellular manufacturing systems that their machines are connected to as series are critically important. So far approaches for improving the reliability of these systems have been mainly based on the enhancement of inherent reliability of any system component or increasing system reliability based on maintenance strategies. Also in some of the resources, only the influence of the location of systems' components on reliability is studied. Therefore, it seems other approaches have been rarely applied. In this paper, a multi criteria model has been proposed to perform a balance among a system's reliability, location costs, and its system maintenance. Finally, a numerical example has been presented and solved by the Lingo software.

Distribution of goods and services in cities is of utmost importance. Selecting appropriate venues for different service centers in a city not only enables the citizens to access these services much more easily, but also reduces the traffic load caused by trips made to reach them. Unfortunately, the lack of a correct urban planning has led to inappropriate formation of many cities around the world in terms of the locations assumed for different service centers. Since the private sector has been given the responsibility to construct most of these centers, changing their current locations may be restricted due to legal obligations. Therefore, it seems necessary for the government to construct new service centers with high competitive facilities to attract customers and to compete with those built by the private sector. In this paper, the selection of appropriate locations to construct new service centers has been studied. Such locations have been selected in a way to fulfill goals such as rapid and easy accessibility for the customers and reduction of traffic drawbacks caused by the related trips. In this regard, a model for service centers with restricted capacity has been designed and a parallel simulated annealing algorithm has been proposed to solve it. Finally, the proposed algorithm has been utilized to locate the health centers around the city of Isfahan and its efficiency has been investigated. The findings highlight the accuracy and speed of the proposed algorithm in location of the health centers of Isfahan

Subject of success in provision of new products is significant to firms’ managers and owners. This subject has also special complexity since literature shows that determining of factors influencing New Product Development (NPD) has had different results in different studies. One of reasons of this difference is related to the characteristics of industries e.g. technology, structure, size, etc. in which the subject has been investigated. In this study, only the organizational size has been concentrated on for better understanding of the small and medium size enterprises. This study is a quantitative research in which, the related literature has been extensively reviewed and structured interviews has been performed with managers of target enterprises and respectively, a questionnaire has been developed and used for data collection. Findings imply that the five factors have influence on successful development of new product of the studied enterprises. In addition, according to the detected gap between existing and the ideal situations of these enterprises, associated problem making factors have been determined and solutions have been suggested for their elimination. <br /><strong> </strong>

Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is a key indicator and a basis for evaluating the effectiveness of equipments as well as assessing the effectiveness of the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) system. This indicator together with overall equipment performance can be used in production lines such as steel production. The aim of this article is to study the influence of six main industrial losses on the OEE indicator. For this purpose, the OEE has been calculated in the cold rolling production lines of Mobarakeh Steel Complex; the gap between production lines and the global industrial standards has been studied; the causes of production system inefficiency has been investigated; and the effectiveness of TPM system, equipments' bottlenecks and the influence of the main industry losses on OEE have been studied. The findings imply that the influence of the variation of availability and performance rates on OEE is high, while the influence of the variation of quality rate on OEE is not considerable.

One of the most important organizational challenges is the strategic alignment between information technology (IT) and business objectives. Organizations have deployed different approaches to achieve strategic alignment and competitive advantage. Enterprise architecture (EA) has been viewed as an effective approach not only for optimum management of IT, but also for strategic alignment of IT applications and business needs. EA maturity indicates the degree of attaining EA project goals, out of which, is the IT-Business alignment. In this paper, the relationship between enterprise architecture maturity (EAM) and strategic alignment maturity model (SAMM) has been investigated to declare whether EAM can act as enabler for SAMM. Research population includes enterprises in which, the EA project is implemented. Pearson’s correlation and regression test have been used for analyzing the data gathered by questionnaire. The findings indicate that the success of EA significantly influences strategic alignment maturity.

The aim of this study is to measure the technical efficiency of housing construction in Iran and also to define current status of the housing industry system and its future in the country. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and the input based model of CCR with fixed return to scale have been used to evaluate housing industry performance in different states of Iran during the years 2006-2009. The complementary BCC approach with assumption of variable return to scale has been used for dividing technical efficiency to management and scale efficiencies. The findings imply that the average efficiency score obtained by all the states is 0.94 and only 37 percent of the states operate technically efficient. On the other hand, about 63 percent of the states are found as relatively inefficient and mostly present decreasing return to scale. Also, it has been found that the inefficient states have management inefficiency in utilizing construction inputs. Without any doubt, managerial and supportive assistance of the government to inefficient states, motivating construction employees to proper jobs and knowledge development in optimum assignment of construction factors could be appropriate solutions for the problems of the housing sector.
